IDC : PC markets in the region are exposed to the biggest drop in its history

 

Revealed the latest market study published by the firm IDC, the PC markets of the Middle East and Africa region is exposed to the largest annual decline in its history, which stood at 25.6 percent during the second quarter of 2015, with the largest decrease experienced by the region's markets through a single quarter in its history.
The study showed that the total PC shipments have fallen to 3.3 million units during the second quarter, where the computer desktop shipments fell by 21.2 percent to 1.4 million units, while notebook shipments fell by 28.6 percent to 1.9 million units.

The study pointed out that the three largest Ntjan kept their first three positions as in the previous few quarters, where top producers suffered a significant drop in annual shipments to the region. It continued HP in first place in terms of market share, despite a decline in shipments by 26 percent over the previous year, and came to Lenovo in second place, down 19 percent, and recorded Dell that come in third place a drop of 10.3 percent, and was left in fourth place, down 29.3 percent, while Asus has maintained its position as the fifth, down 26.7 percent.
The study is expected to be the year 2015 as a whole the worst performer in the region, where the decline in the total PC shipments are expected by 15.7 percent compared to last year, to reach 15.2 million units. In this regard Hraklh says, adding: "volatility will remain in currency exchange rates within and outside the Middle East and Africa region largely responsible for the drop in demand, especially in key markets such as Turkey and Nigeria. And it will affect the fall in oil prices as well as their budgets to countries that rely mainly on oil revenues, including putting pressure on governments to cut spending. At the same time, it will continue to be demand for tablets and smartphones in a negative impact on the rising demand for personal computers, including hamper the performance of the market. "
Predicts IDC in the long run that the PC market is recovering in the region, partly in 2016, where demand will grow by 12 percent during the period of 12 months, while predicted that the lack of growth in shipments during the following years, in addition to a gradual shift in demand by size consumers to the commercial sector, in light of the growth of individual users who convert from PC to tablets and smartphones ratio, and the province of corporate users for their loyalty towards personal computers.
